I live in a world divided by religious beliefs, social status, intellectual status, race and gender discrimination, and as many other dividing factors as we can devise, so I like to indulge now and then in imagining a world where dreamers forge our history forward, at the edge of science and art, through a common understanding of a calling towards an existence of exploration, learning, and sharing.
The path to such a world cannot be created through politics and money, belief systems and wishful thinking. It cannot be created by enforcing one dream over another, but by a natural convergence of human interest into our own potential shared across generations.
Once we tap into our own potential, beyond the interpretative states of the mind, we can see the world in a different way, a way that sparks a child-like curiosity and passion for exploration and discovery.
“Here at the frontier there are falling leaves. Although my neighbors are all barbarians, and you, you are a thousand miles away, there are always two cups on my table.” (Tang Dynasty poem – fragment)
